We had another awesome week this week. On
Monday April 14, we had gone down to Wenatchee with the intentions of going to
this place called Ohme Gardens (it was supposed to be some man-made garden
thing that’s like super beautiful or something like that). So we drive the hour
down to Wenatchee only to find a sign in front of the Gardens that says
"Opening April 15th"....... So instead we ended up going down the
freeway to this place called Leavenworth. It was pretty cool. It’s this tourist
town where everything looks German. All the signs. All the buildings. All the stores. It’s a complete tourist trap but it was fun
to walk around and try some of the food.
Also worth mentioning, our ward up here had
their Pinewood Derby this past Saturday. I forgot how intense the parents can
be sometimes with their kid’s racecars... but it was really cool though (story
time!). On Wednesday we had gone to the church with the rest of the youth with
intentions of making our own racecar and getting some to give to other
investigators. We ended up not making one but still received one to give to a
family we had in mind. On Thursday we ran into a mom and her son who was
looking for something to do that weekend. We said hey! We've got just the
thing! So on Friday we stop by to give him the car and then Saturday evening we
stop by to pick him up and take him to the Pinewood Derby. Apparently he was
really good friends with some of the youth his age who asked him to come sit
with them. It was a pretty cool night.
I would also like to note that we had 7
investigators come to church yesterday. 5 that the Sisters in the area are
teaching and 2 of our own. Gotta love Easter! Speaking of Easter..... you should all go here:
easter.mormon.org
easter.mormon.org
Don't ask questions. Just do it. Then share it with everyone you know. It’s a great site that talks about what we can do Because of Him.
So for the quote this week, it comes from a
conversation we had with one of our zone leaders after district meeting the
other week. It’s a little bit longer so there will be some paraphrasing but the
general gist of it is the same:
"Mission life is the best. Where else do you get tons of free food, a magical little card that has $135 on it every month, free gas money, and you can wake up knowing that even if you fail, as long as you try your best you're still successful?"
Well I hope you all had a great Easter commemorating the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I know I did!
Until next week!
